Posted by Casey Dubyk on 2020 May 4th
Introducing pops of colour into your home is an impactful way to add style and cohesiveness throughout your sanctuary! But not everyone has the time or knowledge to revamp their interior styling successfully, so we’ve asked Heike, our resident Merchandiser and Style-Guru, to put together some tips and tricks on how to effortlessly refresh your home with colour!
Refresh a duvet collection with a new set of sheets
Adding colour to your bed can seem intimidating, especially if your duvet cover is already patterned. A simple rule for avoiding colour overkill is to choose a colour from within the pattern and find a sheet colour to match!
We’ve given a few suggestions to make it easier:
To level up, go bold – mix and match two colours!
Add a punch of colour to a sofa or chair
One great way to style up your chair or sofa is to use decorative pillows or cushions for creative colour arrangements! Pillows come in a variety of shapes and texture, making it a fun and easy way to add colour and style to any room – without having to paint the walls!
More pillows, please! A few more tips and tricks to get your assortment just right:
- Have a variety of sizes and textures.
- Odd numbers work well – group in clusters of three or five.
- For a more formal look, layer two cushions on either side of the sofa.
Dress up your workspace with a new throw or blanket
Just like a new scarf perks up an outfit, the same can be said about throws and blankets! Sprucing up your workspace can be as easy (and cozy) as adding a throw or blanket.
Below are a few to keep you cozy while working from home.
Here are a few helpful tips for styling your sofa after your workday is done:
- Drape the throw over the arm of the sofa.
- Fold in throw in half and place over the back of the sofa.
- Roll the throw and keep it tucked in with the cushion assortment.
Adding pops of colour is a quick and easy way to bring excitement to your space, making it feel new and lifting the mood. We hope these simple tips and tricks make decorating your home seem less daunting and help you get started on your colour journey! Happy decorating!
